Do not burden the children with specific details about why you are divorcing. Is there really a reason you can give that will make the kids say, “Yes, now I see. Great idea.”? No. What can you say that won’t make at least one of you look bad? Insert in your agreement what you will tell the kids now and in the future when they ask increasingly probing questions, however.
