ADD and ADHD, Part 1

How can we provide structure and stability? If the parents—grown and educated adults—can’t stay on the same page vis-à-vis the kids, how’s a nine-year-old with a learning disability supposed to? Writing into your agreement how you will inform the other will help a child who has ADD or ADHD. Also, if you can agree on all parenting standards—bedtime, discipline, diet, TV time, et cetera, the children will have less to guess about. Either ADD or divorce would be challenging enough for kids—dealing with both is quite a burden unless parents deliberately write their agreement to make it easier.
