Will I lose my house if I abandon it?

The law is behind the times. Agree in advance how the house will be shared if one of you wants to move out. One of you should be able to move out so your kids don’t live in a war zone. Agree in writing that both of you agree to that arrangement and that neither of you will use the choice against the other spouse to gain a better bargaining position later.
