Reassure your teenager that he or she will have a flexible parenting schedule with each of you after the divorce
Most teens in a married home enjoy the same, after all. Getting a teen to follow a strict schedule is like making cats walk in a parade. Seeing less of your kids is part and parcel of divorce, but also of the kids growing up. You can build all kinds of flexibility into your divorce agreement. Between 50/50 and every other weekend are many other options. You should write that flexibility into your agreement because you don’t want a petty parent and a ticked-off teen to start a lose-lose battle of wills.
