How do we approach parenting time for teenagers?
Teens in married families often don’t see much of their parents, and teens of divorce are no different. You need a detailed parenting plan even with teens, but you should remember to depart from it when you need to. When kids’ activities fall on one of your parenting time blocks, that’s just the way it goes. You CAN provide for makeup parenting time, but that often becomes very confusing. It’s better to write into your agreement that the chips will fall where they may, with no complex makeup schedule but also no deliberate effort by either parent or the kids to sabotage the other parent’s parenting time.
