Do you have any recourse if your spouse is being unfaithful to you with another partner?
Your children will feel loyalty and tremendous pain that they don’t deserve. Some things about life just stink and others are entirely preventable. You can build into your agreement that both spouses will attend a certain amount of counseling after the affair. You can also provide that the faithful spouse will get a greater percentage of the marital property so that the financial impact on the children can be minimized, and their stability can be preserved. A greater portion of the property, if it is even awarded, is to stabilize the family, not to punish the cheater.
