What strategies can divorcing parents remember to stay on top of their children’s academics?

The slogan of a divorced family can’t be “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” It needs to be, “You better ask because if you don’t, they won’t tell.” Let’s face it—left to their own will, most kids would either skip or slack. You can keep a bad transcript from following them forever by defining in your agreement how you will both stay on top of the kids’ academics, even when you aren’t with them.
