What should you consider when selecting a guardian?

All the things you probably didn’t think about when getting married—or divorced—the age, family, location, home, personality, and closeness to your kids are all essential concerns. Your kids will already feel out of place as it is. Minimizing their trouble fitting into the “new” family ought to be your goal. Explaining your reasons to the kids and asking for their age-appropriate opinion—then inserting that reasoning into the divorce agreement—is a fine idea.
