Divorce doesn’t bankrupt people. Greed bankrupts people, no matter what their income. So-called rich people can get soaked just like anyone else. Resolve your divorce as nicely and quickly (and therefore cheaply) as possible. Very often, the resolution will be largely the same no matter how long you draw out the process. Most people are very financially stable after a mediated divorce. Your desire to compete with your spouse will torpedo your finances in a way that putting the ex and your kids first will not.
