How do we know whether the parenting time schedule we’ve chosen is truly child-centered?
If it is organized around your schedule and convenience, it’s adult-centered. If each of you miss parenting time because the kids are just as busy with activities, it’s child-centered. Parenting time schedule changes are based on observable emotions. Were they your emotions or those of your kids? Put your kids first. If you just need the sound of another voice in the background, rent a movie. Including your rationale for the parenting plan in the divorce agreement will go a long way toward clarifying that it is in the best interests of the children.
