Is there ever a reason not to give kids a voice?

If someone besides you and your ex—such as the child’s therapist—thinks it would be too much, skip it, but those are rare exceptions. Don’t squelch the kids’ voice because you’re afraid of what they’ll say. I believe that you should note in your written agreement why you aren’t giving your teens or kids a voice, if you aren’t.
