Can kids be involved in the divorce process?

Yes, and as it affects their lives, they should be involved. You have to consider them, not you, in deciding how involved they should be. Rarely, people have their kids sit in on the adult meetings, too. Just as rarely, parents don’t give their kids a chance to talk to me. But 95% of the time, the kids have one or several private meetings with me. Some of the most amazingly creative solutions come from teens. You should take cues from the kids about whether they even want to interject their views. Usually, they will. Then, note in the divorce agreement how and when the kids were consulted.
