What if your child’s voice conflicts with your own?
Pursue the child’s best interests even if you prefer something else for your needs but if you truly know better and need to pull rank, do it. A divorce agreement that defines in advance your core values as parents will keep both of you centered on the kids’ needs and maintaining consistent standards. The state doesn’t require those terms, but long-term harmony does.
